Mandate

The Technical Committee provides expertise across federation disciplines, supporting technical standards, performance pathways, and related decisions under these general guidelines.

Roles

  • Composition: maximum 5 members with diverse sports and expertise, including surfers, coaches, officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Attendance: minimum 3 members for an active meeting; fixed 200 SR attendance fee per member per meeting.
  • Meeting schedule: maximum 4 meetings per year based on priorities, with a fixed advance schedule and timely agendas.
  • Decision-making: voting or consensus depending on the issue; collective decisions with accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Define roles and responsibilities for each member and any subcommittees; assign tasks by expertise.
  • Regularly review and evaluate member performance.
  • Establish communication channels for information sharing, require regular progress reports, and promote open, transparent discussion.
  • Regularly evaluate committee performance and achievements, seek member feedback, and keep goals aligned with the federation.
  • Code of conduct: treat members with respect, allow others to speak without interruption, refrain from harassment or discrimination, and be punctual and prepared.
  • Professionalism: carry out duties responsibly, disclose and avoid conflicts of interest, maintain confidentiality, and represent the federation appropriately.
  • Ethics: act with honesty, integrity, and accountability; decide on merit and facts; refuse gifts that may create bias; abide by laws and federation policies.
